Founders’ Foreword

Our Foreword

When we created the Black Gay Weddings platform in 2018, we did so with the sole purpose of showcasing the weddings of LGBTQIA+ people of color. As an underrepresented and often misrepresented population, we believed our love stories needed to be told as only we could tell them. Our platform is genuinely about love, and we endeavor to represent the BEST our community has to offer.

We’ve heard marketing experts in public forums claim that social media algorithms don’t support marketing to LGBTQIA+ people of color. So we said forget the algorithms; we’ll create a safe space to celebrate the untold love stories of our community.

Unlike other platforms that claim to be diverse but only feature LGBTQIA+ people of color when it’s socially advantageous, we are committed to featuring LGBTQIA+ couples of color ALL THE TIME.

Although we have built an amazing, loving, and nurturing community, there’s more work to be done! Your financial support means everything, and if you want Black Gay Weddings to continue our efforts, please subscribe and support the brand.
