Brian & Alec

Orlando, FL – July 8, 2022

How They Met

What do you get when you mix a little bit of Instagram, a little flirtation, and a “Double Tap?” The beginning of an epic love story! Brian & Alec’s love story began in 2019 when Alec slid into Brian’s DM, and Brian responded with a double-tap. However, it wasn’t until a year later that Brian replied to Alec’s message. And, of course, Alec reserved a cute and petty response for a whole year. He said to the eventual love of his life…”Hey Mr. Double-Tap!” They both laughed, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The Proposal

There’s an old saying, “Life’s a Beach, and Then You Love!” I’m pretty sure that’s the way it goes because love is all that was present at Paradise Cove in Orlando on the morning of July 8, 2022, when Brian and Alec exchanged vows in the presence of family and friends. It was A Boho Brunch-style affair, and music from stringed instruments filled the air. The mimosas flowed to every glass as Brian and Alec said, “I do,” at last. Okay, I promise, no more ryhming.

The wedding party came down the aisle in shades of blue, mustard, and pale pink. Brian & Alec came down the aisle hand in hand, wearing matching khaki suits and white shirts with pale pink ties and boutonnières. Alec was tearing up before getting to the altar, at the altar, and walking away from the altar, which must have been contagious because tears of joy could be seen in the eyes of everyone in attendance.

The Reception

After an amazing ceremony and a quick change of wardrobe, it was time to party with the Mazelins. The day continued with an afternoon club-style party at Room 22 in downtown Orlando. This celebration was no sit-down affair, and all the guests understood the assignment… come ready to dance. After mingling with the guests for a bit, the grooms entered and proceeded to have their first dance to John Legend and Jhene Aiko’s song “U Move, I Move.” When the dance floor opened, it was non-stop high energy until the very end, with a mix of the best oldies, hip-hop, and dancehall bops that had everyone moving. Brian added, “It was an amazing day that will forever be etched into our memories as one of the best days of our lives.”

The Couple’s Favorite Moments

Some of our favorite moments included: Walking down the aisle together, hand in hand, and bearing our hearts to the crowd as we recited our personally written vows. Getting married was a life event neither of us imagined for ourselves, so seeing it finally happen was truly a surreal experience. The speeches our best men gave at the reception were heartfelt and touching and underscored the overflowing love surrounding us on the day. Finally, the reception itself was something to remember as everyone was on their feet, dancing and clacking their fans. In a safe and loving space where everyone could be themselves, we saw genuine happiness and sincerity all around us, which was the perfect way to begin our new life together. – Brian & Alec, Congratulations from Black Gay Weddings.
