Black Gay Weddings Luxury Wedding Give-Aways Official Contest Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
1. Contest Overview
The Black Gay Weddings Luxury Wedding Give-Aways (the “Contest”) offers couples a chance to win a Luxury wedding (the “Prize”). Couples will compete through skill-based submissions and voting rounds to become finalists. Winners will be announced in September 2026, and weddings will be scheduled to begin in June 2027.
2. Eligibility
- Open to couples (the “Participants”) who identify as LGBTQIA+, at least 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
- Participants must be legal residents of the United States.
- Employees, officers, directors, and representatives of Black Gay Weddings (the “Sponsor”) and its affiliated companies, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, and any other entities associated with this Contest, as well as their immediate family members and/or persons living in the same household, are not eligible to participate.
- The Contest is void where prohibited by law.
3. Contest Period
- Entry Period: The Contest begins on June 1, 2025 and ends on March 31, 2026.
- Voting Period: Instagram polls for public voting will be held from April 1, 2026 to June 30, 2026.
- Selection Period: Premium subscribers will select the top 10 couples to advance from July 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026.
- Final Judging: The final judging by industry experts and sponsors will occur between September 1, 2026 and September 15, 2026.
- Winners will be announced by September 30, 2026.
4. How to Enter
- Skill-Based Submission: During the Entry Period, each couple must submit:
- A compelling story or essay (maximum of 500 words) describing why they deserve to win.
- A video (maximum 3 minutes) showcasing their relationship and wedding vision.
- Up to five photos of the couple together.
- Entries can be submitted via the BGW Elevate Website (bgwelevate.com/lwg). OR by email to lwg@bgwelevate.com.
- No Purchase Necessary: No payment or premium subscription is required to enter.
5. Selection and Voting Process
- Public Voting on Instagram: All eligible submissions will be posted to Black Gay Weddings’ official Instagram account for public voting through Instagram polls. The top 20 couples with the most votes will advance to the Premium Subscriber Selection round.
- Premium Subscriber Selection: The top 20 couples, as determined by public Instagram polls, will be presented to Black Gay Weddings premium Instagram subscribers, who will vote to select the top 10 couples to advance to the Final Selection Round.
- Final Selection by Judges: The top 10 couples will then be evaluated by a panel of wedding industry experts and sponsors based on the judging criteria listed in Section 6 to determine the winning couple(s).
6. Judging Criteria
The judging panel will evaluate the top 10 couples based on the following criteria:
- Creativity (30%): Originality and uniqueness of the couple’s story and presentation.
- Authenticity (30%): How well the couple communicates their relationship journey and values.
- Engagement (20%): Level of interaction with and support from the public and premium subscribers during the contest.
- Relevance (20%): The couple’s alignment with the mission and values of Black Gay Weddings.
Each of the four winning couples will be selected based on these criteria, with final decisions at the discretion of the judging panel.
7. Prizes
Each of the four winning couples will receive a luxury wedding, organized and curated by Black Gay Weddings and vetted vendors of the LGBTQBizList. The Prize includes:
- Wedding planning and coordination services.
- Venue, catering, photography, videography, and other standard wedding services.
- Additional details will be provided to each winning couple.
- Conditions: Prize is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Specific wedding details, such as dates and locations, are subject to Sponsor approval and scheduling availability.
8. Prize Acceptance and Taxes
- Winners are responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, if any, associated with the receipt of the Prize.
- Winners may be required to complete IRS Form 1099 for the fair market value of the Prize.
9. Winner Notification and Announcement
- The winners will be notified by email or phone within ten (10) business days of the final selection.
- Winners must respond within five (5) business days of the notification to confirm acceptance of the Prize.
- If a winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the Prize within the specified timeframe, or does not fulfill the Prize conditions, the Prize may be forfeited, and an alternate winner may be selected.
- Winners will be publicly announced on Black Gay Weddings’ Instagram account and website in September 30, 2026.
10. Rights and Permissions
By entering, Participants grant the Sponsor the right to use, publish, and display submitted content (story, photos, and video) in all media for promotional and marketing purposes related to the Contest, with or without further compensation or approval, except where prohibited by law.
11. General Conditions
- The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Participant found tampering with the entry process or violating the official rules.
- By entering, Participants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the Sponsor and its affiliates from any claims, losses, or damages arising out of participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activities.
- The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries or for any technical issues that may affect participation or voting.
12. Privacy Policy
The personal information collected through the Contest will be used only for the purposes of Contest administration and in accordance with Black Gay Weddings’ Privacy Policy ([privacy policy link]).
13. Void Where Prohibited
The Contest is void where prohibited by law. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest at its discretion, subject to applicable law.
