Their Story
While on vacation in New Orleans in March of 2016, Allen decided to meet up with one of his friends who lived in the area. As he walked up to meet with him, his friend introduced him to Shane. Together they all went to a bar, and Shane was big-time flirting it up with Allen, but Allen wasn’t catching on at first. Outside another bar, Shane tried his luck again by attempting to strike up a conversation, but Allen felt a little shy until he got up some “liquid courage.” After Allen was well and tipsy, he called Shane to come and hang out with him at the Waffle House on Canal St. From there, these two became inseparable!
On Allen’s birthday, he hosted a by-invitation-only dinner at the Traveler’s Table in Houston. In true birthday dinner fashion, all the people most important to Allen were there to celebrate him. Then, in true romantic style, Shane proposed to Allen in the presence of all who holds Allen dear. So, of course, Allen said, “Yes!” The wedding is set for March of 2023. – Congratulations Allen & Shane from Black Gay Weddings.
