Their Story
James was diligently working on a food truck, and Demetrick was tirelessly waiting for his wings and fries. When another food truck worker asked Demetrick if he needed anything else with his order, he replied, “Yes, that tall glass of water right there,” as he pointed at James. As the stars aligned and destiny smiled, numbers were exchanged, and a burgeoning new romance began.
In January 2021, James decided to throw Demetrick a birthday party at Jackson’s Bistro in Tampa, Florida. Demetrick was aware that the party would take place, but James went the extra mile and invited unexpected guests, family members, and friends from near and far. After the birthday festivities and the “Happy Birthday song,’’ James and Demetrick got on the mic to thank their guests for coming. Next, James got on his knee and asked Demetrick for his hand in marriage. Without hesitation, Demetrick said, “YES!” The nuptials took place on November 12th, 2022.Â
