Douglas & Nasiir

Hampton, NJ – June 25, 2022

Their Story

Douglas and Nasiir met at their local barber shop, A-NU-U, in the early 2000s. At the barber shop, they would casually speak and say hello to one another. Nasiir would playfully call Douglas “Dougie Fresh” whenever he saw him. Obviously flirting. They stayed in contact over the years, casually seeing and speaking to each other in Atlanta.

Eventually, they started dating and were together for three years before they got engaged. Earlier this year, on June 25, while they were watching The Wendy Williams Show in their living room, Douglas recruited their two dogs to help him propose to Nasiir. With music playing in the background, Douglas sat Nasiir down and one of their fur babies came downstairs with a bandanna on that read, ‘Will you marry my daddy?’ Once the ring was on Nasiir’s finger, the other fur baby came downstairs with a bandanna on that read, ‘We are getting married!’

The New Jersey natives are planning a wedding in the near future in Riverside, New Jersey. -Congratulations, Douglas and Nasiir from Black Gay Weddings.
