Their Story
Micah and Rapheal met on Facebook; neither can remember who sent the friend request to whom. Both men liked each other’s pics which “led to a pic-liking war,” said Micah, and the pic-liking war eventually “led to a wave in the inbox.” Although Micah was dating someone at the time and wasn’t paying any man any attention, he found Rapheal intriguing. What set Rapheal apart from other men for Micah was his persistence. Soon after Rapheal demanded that Micah stop acting nonchalant and taking so long to respond to him, they had their first date in Atlanta at Six Flags Over Georgia.
Two-and-a-half years later, the couple was on another date in February of this year. They spent the day doing all of Micah’s favorite things: bowling, taking a walk in the snow, and going to the movies. Micah was excited to see Scream because horror films are his favorite, but he noticed that Rapheal seemed nervous. He just couldn’t quite put his finger on why. Finally, when the couple settled down in the theater, Raphael leaned over to Micah and asked, “You really want to spend the rest of your life with me?” Micah didn’t suspect anything because Rapheal had asked him that question a million times before. Then, Rapheal pulled out a ring box from Kay’s Jewelers and asked Micah if he would marry him.
Currently, the gentlemen are planning a destination wedding for 2024 in Antigua. -Congratulations, Micah and Rapheal from Black Gay Weddings.
